BLURB:

Sooner or later, Mr. Darkness comes for all of us…

At least, that’s what Tristan Castilion, a celebrated Commander of the Vampire Royal Guard, believes. A centuries-old vampire, he just wanted to be left alone. He wanted nothing to do with the war brewing among all the supernaturals and had grown tired of fighting for a lost cause.

Sucked into one last mission from his vampire government, Tristan soon finds himself in the middle of a dark conspiracy within the vampire ranks and a beautiful, half-naked demon chained to his bed.

FEATURED REVIEW

I would give it Six stars if I could.
This was a case of love at first site. I mean this is one of the most beautiful covers I've ever seen. I saw the cover, the words sensual urban fantasy, and I was sold. I had such a good feeling about this book and I started reading it immediately. I deliberately did not read the blurb so I had no idea what this book was about. And all I can say is that this book was even better than my high expectations. And to clarify, I have never read or heard about this author before, which will definitely change now, because I am planning to read all of her books.
Everything about this book from the beginning to the end was perfect. The author's writing style is amazing and consistent to the smallest detail, her world is equally detailed in its creation, the plot is executed to perfection, and her characters are amazingly well developed, even the side ones that don't appear often.
The way the author slowly lures you in with something that sounds like usual but still very intriguing vampire politics, is simply very deceptive of her. Yes, there is a lot of vampire politics, werewolfs and their shifter politics, witches with their politic, and then there is something else. I bet you wanna know what! That is exactly the feeling I had when the story suddenly takes a turn that seems completely unexpected and unrelated to the story. Oh, how beautifully the author executed those twists and turns of the plot! At times I was chewing my fingers in suspense. And the poetic justice of the ending, just brilliant.
Then I have to give warning to sensitive readers, there is violence in this book and it is ugly, then there is some sizzling hot intimacy, and that is just wow, sizzling hot. The world is somewhat grim, and perhaps hopeless in the beginning, but there are always characters who never lose their faith in something better. And characters... Two of them stand out, and I will not say more. However, the head of the wolf pack and the head witch are amazingly entertaining, and so is the priest.
I absolutely loved this book and I hope from the bottom of my heart that the author is planning to expand this into series. Thank you Kharma Kelley for this amazing book. <3
